The average child will spend over 1000 hours every year in school and less than 50 hours in a church setting. The average parent has more than 10 times the opportunities to discuss spiritual issues with their child in one year than a church leader does in 10 years. The church has limited potential to impact the heart of your child. WHAT HAPPENS AT HOME in many ways is more important than what happens at church!
The Kidventure curriculum is built around Three Basic Truths:
1. Wisdom: I need to make the wise choice.
2. Faith: I can trust God no matter what.
3. Friendship: I should treat others the way I want to be treated.
The Three Basic Truths are amplified through 36 monthly virtues (such as kindness, generosity and faith) and 150 Bible stories. Each weekend there is taught a key TRUTH or bottom line. It's the ONE THING we want kids to understand and grab onto during their time in Kidventure.
Here's what a typical 70 minutes at Kidventure looks like:
Welcome: Children are greeted by their small group leader.
Large Group Environment: After children are greeted, they are moved to a large group environment where they hear a Bible story and sing and dance to tell God how much they love Him.
Watch a sample of one of the Bible stories children see during Kidventure large group.
Small Group Environment: After participating in Large Group activities, the children travel back to their small group classroom where leaders introduce the one TRUTH or bottom line and help children understand how this can fit into their everyday life. Small group leaders are serious about having fun with children and passionate about teaching the TRUTH. We want children to see how God's Word fits into their lives and to learn how to talk to Him and to build friendships that will last. Our goal is that each weekend children connect with the same small group of children and the same small group leader to establish relationships that will matter when they need them the most.
